As announced by the Ministry on February 1, 2022, students must earn two online learning credits to graduate from secondary school, beginning with every student who entered Grade 9 in the 2020-21 school year. This is our current grade 12s. For the first year students (current grade 12s) one credit was counted due to COVID online instruction. Parents/guardians may grant permission to have their child opt out of the mandatory online courses required for graduation. Students aged 18 or older or 16 or 17 who have withdrawn from parental control can also independently opt out of the graduation requirement. The opt out form is available both online and on paper.
